Tests List for Early Diagnosed High Creatinine Level

Q: I was diagnosed with high creatinine level yesterday. The radiologist mentioned something about about 126 or 106. I don’t know what it means and please suggest me the tests that I need to do for an exact diagnosis.

thanks for you inquiry. High creatinine level may be a sign of kidney disease. Usually, when creatinine level starts to elevate, there are about 50% of kidney functions are gone.

As you mentioned, your creatinine level is not just a little higher than the normal range. Thereby, it is hard to say whether it is associated with your kidney condition. Thereby, an exact diagnosis is necessary. At least, you need to do urine test and blood test, which may requires you:

- urine test, you need observe whether there is albumin leakage, whether this is microscopic hematuria, how about the specific gravity.

- blood test, hemoglobin, beta 2microglobin, retinol binding protein and electrolyte level

These test will help your doctor to find the cause of your High Creatinine Level. If you have interest in the possible causes of elevated creatinine level, you can email to renal-disease@hotmail.com for a reply within 48 hours.
