How Long Can A Person Stay on Dialysis
As a commonly used treatment for kidney failure patients, dialysis is highly controversial, because it does not only maintain the life of patients, but also brings a lot of side effects. How long can a person stay on dialysis? Read on to learn more information.

For acute renal failure patients, dialysis is temporary.

Most acute renal failure can be cured with proper treatment. Because the kidneys are not able to filter the waste products from body, to avoid their damage to kidneys, dialysis should be done temporarily to eliminate wastes from the body. For some patients, they can get well with 2-3 weeks’ treatment, while for some patients, they may need one month’s treatment. Moreover, for some other patients, their disease may develop into chronic kidney failure and need dialysis forever.

For chronic renal failure patients, dialysis is lifetime.

During the long progression of chronic renal failure, kidney tissues have been dead, so once you start dialysis, you have to be on dialysis forever. But you can combine some other treatment to counteract the side effects of dialysis and promote living quality. Here we recommend you to try Toxin-Removing Treatment, also known as Detoxification Therapy. This is a systemic treatment, which is composed of 9 therapies. Those therapies can work together to eliminate waste products and extra fluid from body via urine, sweat and bowel movement. They can also restore the balance of anti-inflammatory cytokines and pro-inflammatory cytokines to reduce renal inflammation and protect the residual renal function. Moreover, they can improve blood circulation and increase blood flow into kidneys so that essential elements such as oxygen, nutrients and active ingredients of medicine can be transported into nidus to speed up kidney recovery.

After about one week’s treatment, due to the existence of waste products, urine will become smelly and cloudy.

After about half month’s treatment, high creatinine, urea and uric acid level will be reduced by at least 10%.

After about one month’s treatment, your illness condition will get stable, and renal function will get improved. And then you can reduce dialysis frequency, and your life quality will be improved.

How long can a person stay on dialysis? It depends on many factors. Now you can send a copy of your lab report to renal-disease@hotmail.com. Our renal experts will help you analyze it and then give you personalized guidance.
