How to Stop for Being Darker Skin of A Dialysis Patient
After several times of dialysis, some patients may have a dark skin, while some not. Do you know why? How to stop for being darker skin of a dialysis patient? In this article, let’s have a discussion.

Causes of darker skin for dialysis patients

1. Inadequate dialysis. Common dialysis can only filter micromolecule wastes, while the macromolecule wastes are still in the blood. Due to the accumulation of wastes, it is prone to have skin and other body system changes.

2. Excessive supplement of iron. For most dialysis patients, they have anemia. Iron supplement can help relieve anemia, but excessive supplement may cause dark skin.

3. Anemic pigmentation.

4. Calcium and phosphorus regulation disorder. The damaged kidneys can not regulate electrolytes in the blood, so it is likely to have electrolyte disorder.

5. The chlorine content in RO water is excessive.

How to stop for being darker skin of a dialysis patient?

1. To have adequate dialysis. In fact, besides dialysis, you can try some other blood purification therapies, such as plasma exchange, immune absorption, hemodiafiltration, high-flux dialysis, etc. They can help you have a thorough cleanse the blood.

2. To have regular review of methemoglobin so as to prevent iron overload.

3. To correct anemia.

4. To have regular review of calcium and phosphorus, and PTH.

5. Resins in RO water should be replaced periodically.

After a period of time, your dark skin may be improved. To reduce the side effects of dialysis, you can also try Toxin-Removing Treatment, also known as Detoxification Therapy. This is a systemic treatment, which can increase your urination, improve your bowel movement and make you sweat so as to eliminate waste products from body. It can also improve blood circulation and increase blood flow into kidneys so that enough essential elements such as oxygen, nutrients, and active ingredients of medicine can be transported into damaged kidneys to speed up kidney recovery. Moreover, it can reduce renal inflammation and control the disease from getting worse. After about half month’s treatment, symptoms such as dark skin, itchy skin, weakness, swelling, poor appetite and so on will get relieved. After about one month’s treatment, your disease will be under control, and renal function will be promoted.
