How Long Can I Last with FSGS on Kidneys
FSGS stands for Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, which means that the glomeruli are scarred partially. Compared with other renal disease, it usually develops quickly into renal failure. How long can I last with FSGS on kidneys? It is closely associated with your physical condition, severity of disease, treatment and so on. Now read on to learn more information.

If you can get complete remission, your disease will be stable. If you can not get complete remission, your disease will keep worsening, and about 30%-63% possibility for you to develop into renal failure. There are many factors to affect prognosis.

-Children have a better prognosis than adult.

-Massive proteinuria, high blood pressure and hyperlipemia can speed up glomerulosclerosis. Persistent heavy proteinuria can make your survival rate to 45% within 10 years. For non-Nephrotic Syndrome patients, it is 90%. If your 24h urine protein is more than 10g and hyperlipemia is very severe, kidney function will decrease dramatically, leading to pernicious FSGS.

-Frequent relapse and thrombus can make prognosis worse.

-If you are sensitive to steroids, prognosis will be better.

-Pregnancy can make the disease worse.

Treatment to control FSGS well

If your current treatment is not well enough for you to control the disease well, you can try Toxin-Removing Treatment. This is a systemic Chinese medicine treatment, which takes advantage of Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, Medicated Bath, Foot Bath, Enema Therapy, Moxibustion and so on to expel wastes including immune complexes deposited in kidneys out of body, making internal environment good for kidney self-healing and other medication application. It can also improve blood circulation and increase blood flow into damaged kidneys to supply them with enough essential elements to speed up kidney recovery. After about one week’s treatment, swelling will disappear. After about half month’s treatment, proteinuria will decrease. With treatment going on, proteinuria will turn negative. Because your kidney condition will get better and better, your disease won’t relapse, and then you can lead a normal life.
