A normal range for blood urea nitrogen is generally 8 to 24mg/dl for adult males and 6 to 21mg/dl for females. Generally speaking, high BUN level means that the kidneys are not performing well, particularly if the result is above 50mg/dl.
3. Glomerular Filtration Rate
Compared to the mentioned above, glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is more reliable measurement to reflect kidney function. What’s more, according to GFR, kidney disease is divided into five stages.
